Hometown: Independence, Missouri. Fun Facts: This was the birthplace of Harry S. Truman. It was also the departure point for the California, Sante Fe, and Oregon Trails.
Family: My husband Joe and I live with our excitable border collie Gavan.
Hobbies and Interests: I love to travel and to be outdoors as much as possible. I especially enjoy time in the ocean and getting lost in the mountains. I spend a lot of my time running, biking, doing CrossFit and Olympic-style weightlifting, stand up paddle-boarding, and hiking. I take delight in spending time with my family and friends whether we are doing some of the above-mentioned activities or sitting around a fire together. I also love to eat copious amounts of sushi and tacos.
Something most people don’t know about me is: I have competed in a 7-mile mountain race in Alaska three times. It starts at sea level and races up over 2500+ feet to the top of Gavan Hill (my dogs namesake) and then continues to climb another 1000 ft as you cross a mountain ridge onto Harbor Mountain. Even though it takes place in July it is usually around 40 degrees, pouring rain, foggy, and absolutely invigorating.
Your favorite thing about working at Grand Traverse Family Chiropractic: The people. I very much enjoy working for Dr. Rob and with the rest of the team here. The combination of great people to work with and amazing patients make it easy and pleasant for me to come to work.
Most memorable patient story: A patient told me how Dr. Rob had totally changed her life. That she had long accepted that pain and lack of mobility was a part of her life but after several months of care she no longer had those problems. She felt that she had been granted a new lease on life. Her story was both powerful and inspiring.
